EMCOR Electrical Construction Services
Dan provides operational oversight of the electrical construction subsidiaries of EMCOR’s Electrical Construction Services (ECS) division. He is responsible for business strategy development and implementation and budget preparation and monitoring. Additionally, Dan leverages his expertise to manage project performance evaluations, perform risk assessment and bond approvals, and implement financial and project-control systems. Dan is also actively involved in EMCOR’s acquisition program.
Dan is driven by EMCOR’s core values of Mission First, People Always and is deeply committed to the principles of integrity, discipline, and collaboration. He brings these values into all his work, striving to help ECS achieve the highest levels of quality and safety.
Dan has been in the electrical industry for over 35 years with a specialty in communications and technology. His career began with Communications Contractors, Inc., in Chicago, which was acquired by Ameritech Information Systems. Here, Dan held positions as Apprentice, Journeyman, Foreman, General Foreman, and Superintendent.
In 1992, Dan co-founded Communications & Data Services, Inc., which he managed until Gibson Electric acquired the firm in 1998. He served as Senior Vice President at Gibson Electric before becoming President and CEO in 2006, a position he held for 13 years. During that time, Dan managed overall business strategy, internal policies and procedures, and market evaluations, as well as business growth and teamwork development.
While President and CEO of Gibson, Dan held a variety of positions with the Chicago chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), serving as an Executive Board member, Labor Management Cooperation Committee Chair, and Chair of the Communications Committee. He was previously an Executive Board member of the Northern Illinois chapter of the NECA in DuPage County, and is currently a member of the NECA’s Large Contractors Committee.
Dan completed his four-year Communications Apprenticeship Program with the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Chicago Local 134. His industry training also includes various estimating courses, manufacturer certifications, and management classes.
Dan enjoys spending time with his family and friends, exercising, biking, golfing, fishing, traveling, reading, and working around the house.
