Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Operating Officer,
EMCOR Electrical Construction and Services

As Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Operating Officer of EMCOR Electrical Construction and Services (ECS), Dan oversees the operations of ECS’ electrical construction subsidiaries. In addition to business strategy development and implementation, and budget preparation and monitoring, Dan manages project performance evaluations, project risk assessment and bond approvals, and implementations of financial and project control systems. He is actively involved in EMCOR’s acquisition program.

Expertise

Dan has been in the electrical industry for over 35 years with a specialty in communications and technology. He began his career with Communications Contractors, Inc. in Chicago which was acquired by Ameritech Information Systems, where he held positions as Apprentice, Journeyman, Foreman, General Foreman & Superintendent.

In 1992, he co-founded Communications & Data Services, Inc. (CDS), which he managed until Gibson Electric acquired the firm in 1998. Dan was Senior Vice President at Gibson Electric until 2006, when he became President and CEO. In this position, he managed the overall business strategy, internal policies and procedures, market evaluation, and managed growth and teamwork.

Dan held various positions with the local Chicago NECA Chapter (ECA) as Executive Board member on the Executive Committee, LMCC Chairman, and Chairman of the Communications Committee. He was also past Executive Board member of the Northeastern Illinois Chapter (NECA) in DuPage County.

Dan completed the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers' (IBEW) four-year Communications Apprenticeship Program through IBEW Local 134 in 1986. His industry training also includes various estimating courses from TRF and ConEst Software Systems, various manufacturer certifications and various management classes through Fails Management Institute, Babson College, and the Thayer Leadership Development Group Course at West Point.

Dan enjoys spending time with his family, exercising, golfing, fishing, reading and working around the house.
