Chief Executive Officer,
As leader of the EMCOR Industrial Services (EIS) Division—which is comprised of Ohmstede Industrial Services and Ohmstede Ltd., Repcon, AltairStrickland, Diamond Refractory Services, Tiger Tower Services, Turnaround Welding Services, and Redman Equipment—Bill is responsible for managing the relationship between field and shop services within EIS to deliver excellence in performance and customer satisfaction. His guidance fosters growth and continual innovation in search of solutions for customers.
Bill has over 40 years of experience in the oil industry. With his bachelor of industrial engineering from General Motors Institute and an MBA from Harvard Business School, Bill joined Cameron Iron Works in 1974 directly after graduation. He ultimately accepted the role of Managing Director of Cameron Valve Operation in Livingston, Scotland, where he spent three years before returning to Texas.
Although Bill had returned to the states, he kept his eye on the industry internationally. He joined NL Industries in 1982 as part of their oilfield service business. He went on to hold titles such as VP of Worldwide Operations for Baroid Fluids with responsibility for plants, mines, distribution, and joint ventures in Europe, Asia, Canada, and South America.
From there, Bill received experience in the drilling side of the oil field business as the President of Sperry Sun Drilling Services Group, which included diamond drill bit manufacturing, measurement while drilling (MWD) tool R&D and operations, directional drilling services, and well surveying technology.
Bill widened and diversified his leadership experience when he became the CEO and President of Schlegel Lining Technology, a pioneer in the manufacturing of high-density polyethylene lining systems for landfills, ponds, and mining applications. Under his guidance, Schlegel merged with Gundle Lining Systems and became the global industry leader and ultimately listed the Company on the NYSE.
In the early 2000’s, Bill became the Chief Executive Officer and Director of ITEQ, Inc., a NASDAQ-listed company that included companies such as Ohmstede, Graver, GLM Tanks, HNT Tank Services, and Air Cure Products. Shortly after, Bill and Doug Harrington—Ohmstede’s COO—took ownership of Ohmstede as they saw the great opportunity of integrating shop and field services.
Since that time, Bill has kept his eyes open and poised for greater growth and service innovation opportunities.
The Personal Side
Bill has a special interest in high-performance automobiles and motorcycles. He and his wife recently started raising Texas Longhorn cattle. Both he and his wife enjoy spending time with their children and grandchildren whenever possible.
